Good news from the Hedge

Dear friends and supporters – we have joyous and startling news:

We have reached the £25,000 mark!!!

We are utterly flabbergasted, somewhat exhausted and warmed to the very cellars of our hedgehearts by your continued support in this marathon campaign! Thank you all, whether you’ve supported us with £1, with a retweet or a facebook share or an email, or by becoming a Hedgemother or Hedgefather patron to our dream. Every single one of your good wishes has spurred us on towards making this unlikely magic happen. We are so very, very blessed.

But we still have 9 days to go! A few days ago, we posted here about some Hedgespoken community arts projects we’d like to fund – one involves running week-long immersions in puppetry, storytelling, mask-work and stage-craft, followed by a community show at the end of the week; the other, similar, involves collecting stories from marginal communities and helping them tell their stories both to and for their communities. There are more details here: https://hedgespoken.wordpress.com/2014/11/20/the-big-question/ – the more we can raise this last week or so, the more of these workshops we can run for free, so please keep spreading the word for this last push!

And, tonight, we’ll be listing the items for sale in the Hedgehammer auction – various folk have kindly donated their wares or skills for us to auction and raise funds from. There are details here: https://hedgespoken.wordpress.com/2014/11/16/hedgehammer/ – viewing will begin tonight, and then we’ll start the auction on Sunday evening (GMT)

Lots happening!!! Thank you again and keep up with our progress on the home stretch at http://hedgespoken.org, on facebook at http://facebook.com/hedgespoken and on twitter at http://twitter.com/hedgespoken

From a ray of rare November sun on the moor-edge, stunned…

  1. Congratulations. Your campaign has let us all have a chance to be a little bit of stardust lighting up a dream. What you want to do is so worth while; it is very special to have played a little part in it. Those of us who have yet to hear your stories are all hoping this travelling home will bring you within reach of our ears.
