One Year Subscription to Elk Lines, With Accompanying Hand-felted Story-Case, by mythweaver Sylvia V. Linsteadt of Wild Talewort
Elk Lines, a Wild Tales By Mail project for adults, is a rewilding of the old Hungarian version of “The Handless Maiden” tale, set on the Point Reyes Peninsula of Northern California. Each of its eight installments make up one continuous novel, and are mailed (with a wax-seal and hand-drawn stamps!) to arrive upon the eight seasonal festivals of the year, in the old Celtic tradition: Lughnasadh (August 1st); the Autumn Equinox (September 21st); Samhain (November 1st); the Winter Solstice (December 21st); Imbolc (February 1st); the Spring Equinox (March 21st); Beltane (May 1st); and the Summer Solstice (June 21st). My own hand-drawn “map” or “songline” of the season will accompany each installment, to further root you into the landscape of Point Reyes and the lives of the plants and animals who dwell there. (value: $96.00)
Hand-Felted Story-Case: Hand felted, hand-sewn, hand-embroidered story case with eight pockets to hold your entire Elk Lines collection! This story case is sewn with lake-blue corduroy pockets, and embroidered with antlers to guard your tales when they are all buttoned in. The wool is local, sustainable merino and jacob from nearby coastal sheep farms. Made with love and song outside in the garden, as the birds sing and the weather shifts and moves. (value: $99.00)
TOTAL VALUE: US$195.00, OR £125.00
Bidding will start at: £55
Auction time: Monday 24th November 7.30pm (GMT)
